The Daily Checklist for BDE

This checklist helps maintain a focused and consistent outreach process based on quality research, relationship-first engagement, and transparent lead tracking. This checklist can be filled in via Microsoft Teams Updates or kept as a recurring checklist in your own Notion/Docs.


Morning Block: Discovery & Research (60 mins)

Lead Discovery

  • Check LinkedIn Jobs, Clutch, Crunchbase, AngelList, Upwork, Freelancer
  • Identify 2–3 new companies actively seeking dev help
  • Filter only companies:
    • Based in: SF Bay, NYC, LA, Seattle, Austin, London
    • With < 50 employees
    • With funding/traction
    • Matching Laravel/Node/React/Full Stack/UX

Stakeholder Profiling

  • Identify at least 1 stakeholder (Founder, CTO, Product Head)
  • Log stakeholder and company in EspoCRM with:
    • Company details
    • Stakeholder LinkedIn profile
    • Source of discovery
    • Tags: [Hot], [Qualified], [TrialPotential] etc.
    • Status: Discovered

Midday Block: Outreach & Engagement (60–75 mins)

Connection & Messaging

  • Send 3–5 new connection requests with a short note
  • Engage with 2 stakeholder posts (comment, like)
  • Send 2–3 personalized outreach messages to newly connected or older stakeholders
    • Use trial pitch structure (empathetic, non-salesy)
    • Keep tracked in CRM as “Messaged”

CRM Action

  • Update EspoCRM status for yesterday’s leads:
    • Move from Discovered → Contacted → Responded
  • Set follow-up task for each interaction
  • Add notes for any conversation or response

Afternoon Block: Follow-ups & Meetings (30 mins)

Scheduling & Response

  • Follow up on pending responses
  • Send call invites or reminders
  • If call completed, log notes in EspoCRM:
    • Summary of the pain points
    • Outcome of the call
    • Trial interest?
    • Next steps & responsible owner

End-of-Day Entry (for Teams or Notion)

Use the Microsoft Teams Updates App to quickly fill in these fields (template format):

  1. New companies researched today:
  2. Stakeholders reached out to (names or count):
  3. Personalized messages sent:
  4. Replies received (Y/N):
  5. Calls booked:
  6. Leads added or updated in EspoCRM (Y/N):
  7. Anything interesting learned or questions to raise?

Optional: “Highlight of the Day”

  • Share one interesting lead, message, or conversation insight in Teams group
